Adam McKay is so smart and we are all so dumb, I’m so happy he was able to enlighten us all through this puddle-depth biopic of freeze frames, lazy narration, and needle drops, that is too cowardly to say anything remotely critical about anyone or anything.

Interesting story with a strong lead squandered by unnecessary fourth wall breaks and caricature. Goes out of its way to make Cheney/Rumsfeld look comic book villains when the real story makes them look bad enough. Bush especially is SNL tier parody.

I really enjoyed this movie. I think that the acting was amazing all around, with Christian Bale and Sam Rockwell stealing the show. Believe it or not, the makeup is fantastic, and McKay’s writing is really well done, especially with how they incorporated Plemons narrator. 7.5/10
