My friend coughed in the theater and those few seconds were more tense and cinematic than anything this film has to offer

She's one of the most important characters in so many timelines, powerful as hell, and Anya-Taylor Joy is a standout actress with a hell of a resume to back. I know this got shifted around a lot, dropped and picked back up, reshot, but come on. Spare me this.

If anything I wish it was longer, but ‘The New Mutants’ gives more insight into how mutants can be treated or even taken advantage of. Another thing to add to the watchlist if you haven’t already.

Pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it. Magik was great. I thought it would be a wreck, based on all the issues in filming, but it was actually pretty fun. Solid B.

The New Mutants didn’t deserve to be locked away for years. It’s not some unwatchable mess but rather a perfectly fine, entertaining, if at times formulaic small-scale genre movie.
