The performances are highlights in both Pattinson's and Defoe’s repertoire, the black and white photography is gorgeous, and the story of "Winslow" coming to terms with his tentacle fetish was truly powerful stuff.

It’s the perfect film school movie as nothing makes sense unless you take a deep dive, the acting is amazing from both Robert and Will making it very rewatch able. However this is one of the few I can name as not for everyone, it’s a great watch just not an enjoyable one. 8.5/10
Kareem likedThe LighthouseAmazing cinematography/lighting honestly it should've won the Oscar over "1917". Loved the soundtrack too kinda reminded me of The Lobester but 10 times better. Also someone pls tell me where is Willem's Oscar 🙄. And thank god Robert explained the movie in the interviews.

This one is not an easy go. It is NOT a horror film. It is a psycho-sexual character study. . Dafoe and Pattinson are both amazing. The look of the film is like visual poetry. This is an art film surrounding a spiral of madness.

The Lighthouse stands as a monument to two titanic performances. Pattinson’s easy naturalism curdles into something unnerving and evil here, while Dafoe goes full German Expressionist villain with the biggest screen performance since Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood.
