Atom User Reviews for The Lighthouse
This one is not an easy go. It is NOT a horror film. It is a psycho-sexual character study. . Dafoe and Pattinson are both amazing. The look of the film is like visual poetry. This is an art film surrounding a spiral of madness.
If you're a big fan of Marvel/Disney/DC movies, don't see this.
yes robert pattinson f*cked fish pu$$y at the light house, things happen 🤷♀️
Farts.
Phenomenal
In a word - genius. (Not a "horror" flick and not for casual movie-going.)
One step below tentacle porn - but I appreciate the symbolism
#stunning #disturbing
It was fun at times but it didn't really seem to stick the landing.
Enjoy the film as an art piece. Then spend the time reviewing all the metaphors!
the funniest, not meant to be funny movie I've ever seen
Masterpiece
its bizarre, but I liked it. it's not a traditional horror film so don't go if that's what you're looking for
Don’t waste your money or time
One of my all time favorites. So strange and terrifying.
Very uncomfortable movie. Good acting but poor plot
I understood the movie but it wasn't for me. It was well shoot and the effects were nice but that's all I liked.
The most surprised I’ve been by a movie all year. Absolutely amazing.
It was incredibly shot and left me feeling strange. You’ll understand the feeling it gave once you see it. It is in standard definition and black and white through out the entire movie. The story behind it was confusing but they may want you to watch it a few times to get the whole picture.
It was boring and I didn’t understand it and Robert Pattinson and willem Defoe did a really bad job
Dark, haunting, thought provoking and oddly funny. The acting is awe inspiring while the characters challenge the viewer to think deeply on what it all means.
I think I loved this movie? I can’t tell right now but this is probably a masterpiece
awesome acting, very intense
Save your money. Save your life. It was awful. Easily in my worst 5 ever.
Creepy but overall good
Surprisingly good acting....from both actors.
Good concept but tried a bit too hard to be “artsy”
Honestly one of the greatest cinema experiences I’ve had in a while
Performances were good but if you’ve seen the trailer you’ve seen the best parts. Could’ve been way better if there was a decent plot
Extremely boring - very little story. And no pay off.

While The Lighthouse didn’t hit me as deeply or as sharply as The Witch, the fact that such a strange feature can still be produced with so few concessions to the mainstream, and that it’s coming to theaters, feels like a breath of fresh air — albeit one cut with at least a few Willem Dafoe farts.

The Lighthouse provides a marvellous chamber-drama platform for two actors, Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, who seize the opportunity with gusto.
The movie delivers its share of shudders, along with fabulous arias of anger, wrath and disgust from both actors as the power dynamic bounces back and forth.
