I keep thinking about how deeply weird the existence of the Blues Brothers is. Two comedians start a semi-joke band on SNL that’s mostly an excuse to feel like legit musicians, then they end up opening for the Grateful Dead and record an album that goes platinum. Then Dan…

“WHAT’S THE DAMN BUDGET OF THIS FILM??” - me every 5 minutes.
RyLanJun 20, 2012This film is a rare breed as it simply transcends genre tropes and rules and thus creates a unique action comedy musical. And my love for it knows no bounds. Every time I see this film I am a bit sad that Belushi did not give himself the chance to fulfil his great…

This is probably the most expensive SNL episode.

The Blues Brothers is probably the greatest comedy of all time. John Landis directed this picture flawlessly and the characters of the Blues brothers might just be the coolest characters in cinematic history.
No matter that the big screen story gets convoluted and improbable-the characters make it work. They sing classic rhythm and blues songs well enough, but better yet, perform with the greats.

Went into this blind and was fully expecting a slow tame comedic musical and instead got an action packed musical
Great characters. Great dialogue. Great music. Absolutely fantastic

This flick’s got everything: adult orphans, unnecessary violence, police brutally, nazis, intolerant rednecks, the blues…. Love how exaggerated everything is — esp. the grand finale … but atleast 20 mins could’ve been trimmed from the film as a whole (aka the very beginning) 🎷🫂🚓⛓️💥
One of the best soundtracks ever, and a hilarious adventure with some amazing characters. So many cameos and funny lines of any movie. I feel this should be required watching for any old school SNL fans. This was a spin-off from the show with beloved characters of the time.
Brilliant. Star studded but not taking itself seriously, comedy all round. Watched in cabinet rooms and their sound system brought out the best in the tunes. Comedic quantities of cars crashed, Carrie fisher being hopeless romantic, crazy nazis, crazy government officials.
