Synopsis
This latest take on the exploits of Robin of Loxley is so much more than just another tale of robbing from the rich to give to the poor. Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) plays the battle-hardened Crusader known as Robin Hood as he stages an adrenaline-pumping revolt against the corrupt English crown. Jamie Foxx plays Robin’s Moorish commander, Little John, and Jamie Dornan plays his compatriot, Will Scarlet. The cast also includes Eve Hewson as Maid Marian, Tim Minchin as Friar Tuck, and Ben Mendelsohn as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Nick Dubberly is "meh" onRobin HoodI decided to check this out, and it’s not that bad. Is it the best Robin Hood movie ever? No. But, probably not the worst. It does have some good action sequences and use of slow motion. In the end it’s a decent action flick, but not one that I’m going to rush to watch again.

You could build a suspension bridge over the gap between what Robin Hood could have been and what it is. Its hero is credible as a man who wants to rob from the rich and give to the poor, but the storytelling is so impoverished that the message can't stick.
