Synopsis
When the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune. Wade Watts finds the first clue and starts a race for the Egg.

Hot take, I don’t like this movie. It relies heavily on pop culture. There’s nothing new here, the story is as basic as it comes. I think Spielberg has passed his peak in making family movies. He’s been doing better in more mature movies.

If I had not read the book it would have been better. There were so many changes that I didn't love it. But it could stand on its own had I not had a different storyline in mind.

I saw the film in IMAX, and a week later I’m still waiting for the safe return of my optic nerves, but it was the meagre emotional charge that shocked me most. Toward the end, as in many Spielberg movies, there are tears, but, for once, they feel unearned.
