I don’t think I’ve ever seen a film start so well but finish so poorly. Daniel Kaluuya & Jodie Turner-Smith turn in two of the best performances of the year, the direction is really solid and the camerawork on display here was near flawless. However, the film felt like…

Have a feeling that Daniel Kaluuya’s Eyes will continue to get snubbed for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars.

this movie does a superb job of speaking on issues that should no longer be current. it pulls at all the emotions but beautifully breaks up the tension.

KKKing KendrickExcellent movie showing the crooked white cops black people have to deal with. Nothing better than seeing that white cop get his head bust open🤗

MJMemphis JohnstonOk, so the movie is beautiful, the cast is great with an even better chemistry but they’re some large plot holes and inconsistencies.

While writers Lena Waithe and James Frey make Queen and Slim’s initial decision to flee convincing, and dramatically spiky – it’s striking that even a lawyer doesn’t fancy her chances on the legal route – their screenplay is rather less good at coming up with excuses for the string of colourful and picturesque pit-stops the two keep making afterwards.

It’s a tale as old as time and a story ripped from the news feed; a dream of connection and an anvil to the heart. See it for the arrivals of a directorial talent and a stunning young actress, and see it to remind yourself of this country’s ancient and eternal sins.

Queen Slim’s ultimate route is a powerful one – a drive meant to be shared, and discussed, long after the road ends.
