Man this David seems like a really good and upright guy. I really hope he doesn’t get his friend killed just so he can steal his wife.
DallinWeechDec 18, 2025Everyone saying this is zionist propaganda does not know their history. Biblical Israel is NOT current day Israel. Telling this bible story doesn’t mean pushing the idea of an innocent Israel. This is NOT me being pro genocide though. Free Palestine!
EmmyJan 1, 2026Really solid faith-based film. I thought the music, vocal casting and animation were top notch. The film desperately needed 10 minutes cut out, and the themes and plot points felt a little mature for younger audiences, but it was worth a watch and felt like a worthy…

This was a very ambitious remake of Dave and the Giant Pickle.
Tommy WilliamsDec 9, 2025I’m pretty sure David and Jonathan were gay, but I can’t prove it
Root Beer Lord The One & OnlyDec 21, 2025Where’s the part where David had to collect 100 foreskin and he double downed and collected 200? “The heart of a lion, but the spirit of a lamb.”

Seeing an animation studio straight from Cape Town (where I'm from) beautifully animate the biblical story about David is so awesome. Super proud of my city!
JoshuaCaineDec 19, 2025If you ever had a crush on Moses in The Prince of Egypt, just wait to see grown-up David. Like, I get it, it’s in the text (1 Samuel 16:12), but they didn’t need to go that hard. I’ve been eagerly awaiting this film ever since I first saw the concept art a few years ago…
MardenDec 12, 2025Yet another fundy brainwashing movie hiding behind "Childrens Entertainment." Remember when Camel cigarettes got dragged for advertising to children? Or when cartoons got lambasted for masking as toy advertisement? This is EXACTLY like that but far far worse. Instead of…

As pure and wholesome a depiction of David’s youth as you can get. The music by Phil Wickham makes the movie. I wish the movie leaned in to the friendship between Jonathan and David more, and I wish the director mentioned David’s miscues in later life in the post credit message
Lovely!!! I really hated the animation style at first-almost seems AI generated and lifeless at times, BUT it grows on you and the voice acting and dialogue are great and the songs are catchy and whimsical. Grand, emotional and wholesome film and I really liked it. Songs ok 6/10
Definitely not your typical animated kids movie. That’s not to say that it isn’t good, the animation looks amazing! The story was decent. I did find myself a little bit bored, I do wish there was a little bit more action. The songs were ok, but not really catchy or memorable.

What a beautiful movie. From the song to the animation itself, it’s such a beauty to see. I never knew the story when it came to the Bible, and yet this movie gave it to me straight and at the same time, gave hope and this sense of the beauty of religion and hope. 10/10
Sure, it’s aimed at kids, but it was extremely flamboyant at times…almost like being stuck inside an Imagine Dragons music video. Cut most of the musical numbers, increase the grit a little bit to still keep the PG rating, and you may be cooking here.

It has good musical numbers and a simple, easy-to-understand message. The plot has its strengths and weaknesses, and although it can get confusing at times, it remains entertaining. 7/10
It was ok I enjoyed some of the messages. I kind of wish it was more accurate at times watching through it. But it’s just a story based somewhat off the actual scriptures we have.

30 years in the making and none of them were a waste! 10000/10 AMAZING! I could feel the presence of God in the theater. Not just a film, but ministry! God bless the actors, the creators and the entire team.
BMBrandon McgeeJust a wholesome movie that tells a great story based on the Bible. Overall something to watch without worrying about hidden messages.
RRRoxane RykWe took our 13 and 16 year old girls to see this movie and everyone enjoyed it. There is no gore in the movie. It is absolutely safe for younger kids. We would definitely recommend this for a nice family movie night.

Had my 6 year old daughter and I crying tears of hope, joy, thankfulness and sadness. You just see gods mercy through Davids story , it helped me put visual to the books in the Bible and I couldn’t be more thankful because it’s something I struggle with. My kids, husband…

RRRussell RowleyI really liked the animation. Good to see a children's movie without any stupid schatologic humor.
