remember when everybody hated batman movies because the gay guy making them was having too much fun
pd187Mar 22, 2016I've been complaining for years that Batman doesn't spend enough time shooting people to death, torturing them with red-hot bat symbols, and making bush-league intellectual mistakes. Thank goodness Zack Snyder finally made a movie for me! Snark aside… My actual review…

Batman and Superman stop fighting because they both realize their moms are named Martha. That actually happens in this movie.
Patrick PryorNov 27, 2021Had this playing on TV in the background while I did some chores. The cinephile community occasionally flirts with the idea that Zack Snyder might be a misunderstood visionary artist, and the truth is that he is not.
Will SloanMar 26, 2016This is easily the worst Batman movie but its only like the third worst Superman movie so small victories.

70/100 Insanity wrapped in echos of tragedy, trauma, and American gloom. Throughout Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I was dumbfounded not only by its failures but by its triumphs. This is Zach Snyder making a DC team-up movie in the only way he knows how, and the…
SilentDawnMar 16, 202180 Right from the first sequence of Batman v Superman, Zack Snyder presents his form of deconstruction in a split tension. These icons are not just two sides of the same coin, but mythic translations of a political world. We see the death of Bruce Wayne's parents - …

Good action. Affleck did a pretty good job as Bruce/Batman. Cavill did Superman well. Jeremy Irons as Alfred was pretty cool; good part for him. The dream sequences were. . .interesting. Cameos kind of felt forced. Not a bad picture, far better than what I expected. Great…

Batman v Superman lacks the levity (forced or otherwise) of a typical Marvel Universe entry. But Snyder's superpowered epic does have a sense of import and grandeur about it.

Batman V Superman takes a title fight kids of all ages have been speculating about for decades—costumed titan from the cosmos, meet costumed vigilante from the city—and invests it with all the fun of a protracted custody battle.

There’s enough going on to keep you watching — and, as I said, to keep fanboys wowed by the scale of the production and pretension. But most people will leave feeling drained and depressed, wondering how a studio can get away with withholding so much.
