I really enjoyed this, I don’t think I’d watch it again but would recommend to a friend. Unexpected social commentary and dramatization of real events, but I found it pretty funny and a handful of scenes have u turning to whoever you’re with and saying “wtf” and laugh

Russell’s film is not remotely playable. Amsterdam so badly wants to be a light romp with heavy-duty meaning that it cannot help but be flattened by a sagging self-exhaustion. It is an exercise in interminable madcappery.
