eely 👻May 1, 2019If Americans weren't cowards they never would have implemented the production code and we could have had Lauren Bacall fully getting her dyke on........................
meg @ lffJan 23, 2018lauren bacall plays a lesbian in this and i would have much rather watched a movie solely about her character idgaf about the trumpet man

“You’ll always know where you are. So steady, you and that trumpet of yours, your devotion to it. Gives you faith in yourself. Yes, you know where you are.” “Do I?” Thirteen seconds. That’s how long Jean Spangler appears in Young Man with a Horn, the uncredited hula dancer…

BreAug 9, 2018Lauren Bacall raised millions for the LGBT and Kirk Douglas stole it all for himself!
Sara ClementsJul 5, 2019If someone’s going to rob you of your life’s ambition, it may as well be Lauren Bacall. Hell, I’d argue that whatever your life’s ambition may be, it’s likely not as special as the act of having it robbed by Lauren Bacall.

The non-musical performances are shallow: Douglas is forceful but one-note, Day is as square and wholesome as a glass of milk, and Bacall purrs along in the same faux-bad girl performance she’s given for the past 60 years. But I suppose that’s fitting for a morality play this black and white, where wild jazz, liquor, and loose women cause the downfall of man.
