The movie really peaked my interest from early on with discussion of moral ambiguity and what makes things right or wrong. The nature of the story wasn’t too much in my interests but I do like these self aware debates.

I shouldn’t have been but I was surprised this was mostly a true story and despite the religious setting of the movie, extremely socially relevant, bringing to bear the complexities of relationships of every kind.
Pav is "meh" onWomen TalkingIt was just OK. For a bottle concept to work, it needs to go larger than it did. It seemed quite contained. Might’ve worked as a short movie, but this seemed contrived and tries to be deeper than it is. Fran Drescher has the best performance, and she says like 5 words.

Despite a morose colour palette that can feel a little eat-your-vegetables at times, the film is beautifully performed and gripping in a chewy, nuanced, contemplative way – as its title suggests, the talking, as well as the thinking it kindles, is the point.

For a while, each of their characters seems trapped in a loop from which she can’t break free, unlike the beatific Mara. But the group’s seasoned elders, played by Ivey and McCarthy, are the characters that stay with you. The two veteran players’ understated performances beautifully ground the film with positive wisdom. Lots of words are said in Women Talking, but when these two speak, you perk up and listen.
