more movies should include old ladies fistfighting
emmaAug 17, 2021This movie is epic. I probably watched it 1000 times as a kid. And it still holds up really well. Love it. - Val Kilmer has his shirt off for half the film, take note other action movies!!! - Watching Sorsha fall in love with Madmartigan knowing she'll lose her life and…
KatApr 10, 2021Sam stayed with Frodo even though the journey was almost certain death. Willow tells Meegosh to go home once, and he immediately does.. what a douche.

Max PowerJan 6, 2023thinking about how val kilmer wanted special horse riding lessons for this movie, but george lucas said no. so instead of being normal, val found a huge wooden cross and dragged it to george lucas’s trailer in protest and i guess…cosplayed jesus? until he got his lessons.…
emmaFeb 3, 2013I'm afraid that Willow is destined to be seen as a Lord of the Rings knockoff and not given a chance to stand on its own merits. I can recognize that there are a number of similarities between the two, but both stories take from the Bible, and Arthurian and Norse legend,…

The vibe, atmosphere, and settings. This is exactly the kind of film that makes itself a timeless piece, one with its heart in the right place. I mean, you just have to love it. A classic adventure lies ahead. Small heroes, a great quest, a forgotten world, and the…
werskuAug 1, 2021Another Val Kilmer movie I was interested in re-watching after reading his autobiography. Fun fact: he ended up marrying (and eventually divorcing) the girl who played Sorsha. Willow was a big hit in the 80’s, but it feels less celebrated nowadays. I always thought it…
Dave TaylorNov 29, 2022Loved Willow as a kid, still love it as an adult. It might be a not-so-subtle imitation of Lord of the Rings, but there’s still so much to enjoy. I’m kind of bummed my name isn’t Madmartigan.

One of my favorites when I was little. I was so excited when they announced the Willow series on Disney+

This was such a funny movie AHAHAH, and I loved every second of it, beside the battle but I don’t really care it was made in 1988 anyway and it was pretty good.
I wish I could watch it when I was little I would’ve love it more, such a good film. Glad to see Warwick Davis out of his Star Wars can droid

Words cannot express how much I adore this film! Before we got The Lord of the Rings this was the closest thing we could get to anything Tolkienesque, it is so far ahead of its time! Val Kilmer shines as Madmartigan and I don’t think anyone could have played the part better.
Willow is a great fun watch as it combines elements of lord of the rings and at some points Snow White. However the pacing isn’t the greatest and it deserved a sequel exploring the world more openly. It’s worth the go just for Warwick Davies, Overall 7.7/10
