One of the best movies I've ever seen. It's a movie that our youth need now. There is no religion in this. Just moral teaching and essential history.

Love and courage come with a sacrifice. All great heroes movies demonstrated courage and sacrifice. This shows how an ordinary weak physically but strong mentally person could save life/lives. Ends bullying with a simple gesture.

Beauty from ashes…must see!

I became immersed in the story line of the movie. Having spent some time in Germany, and visiting some of the camps, it brought back several emotions about the resilience of the Jewish people and the exposure to inhumanity that can come from mob madness.

It was so inspiring and great!

It was a film depicting human resilience in very tough times. I don't think it was based on real people, but it felt like it could be. The lesson being taught is a lesson we all would do well to learn.

Super good made me cry

We really enjoyed this film, the cast was amazing and it all felt very natural and was not heavy-handed, despite the possibility that it could be. The perspective taking and learning of the main character also felt more realistic, when you understand someone else’s struggles it really helps you understand your own. (My husband was a little put off by the use of the wolves in the forest, but other than that really liked it.) The music was lovely, the cinematography was enchanting and the costuming was very good. I highly recommend this film.

One could argue that Forster and company calibrate their anodyne effects to make a Holocaust narrative that’s palatable for younger viewers. But what mostly resonates is a particularly lachrymose brand of show-business hedging.
