Not secretly great or anything but certainly not as terrible as legend would have it. Either way the production design, miniature effects, and stuntwork are completely unbelievable, and it takes serious suicidal audacity to try to shoot something of this scale on the open…
matt lynchNov 4, 2018One of the wettest worlds we’ve seen, from the standpoint of water.
Eric HatchMar 9, 2014All I chose to remember about this movie was watching Kevin Kostner drink his own pee.

This kinda rocks?
Sean FennesseyMay 25, 2024“Writer Peter Rader came up with the idea for Waterworld during a conversation with Brad Krevoy where they discussed creating a Mad Max rip-off.” huh ya don’t say
David SimsMar 5, 2024Definitely one of those movies that plays a lot better now than it did then. Oh, people in 1995 thought this was a half-baked, sorta-boring George Miller rip-off? They thought there were too many jet-ski stunts? They were jaded from seeing one too many blockbusters with…

Mad Max: Cruise Control. Very broad and childish take on a George Miller action apocalypse but still an absolutely incredible feat of analog design work and open sea stunts and spectacle. Not really sure why it's 3 hours long tho lol.
Josh LewisAug 31, 2023Nothings free in Waterworld. Is this the first time in movie history where the amusement park live show is better than the movie it’s adapted from?
Joe AJul 22, 2020The Seattle baseball team should slap Kevin Costner’s weathered, unshaven mug on their caps in tribute to the greatest Mariner of them all.

Literally so good, I love the story so much and the actors are phenomenal. I think personally I really enjoyed it because I watched it with my best friends and her family so the movie has a personal connection to it. Overall a very good movie and super cool concept. Def recommend
Very fun movie with great ideas and good characters. It’s like if dune was done right. Yes it’s a bit cheesy and cliche, but it works—it’s not trying to take itself too seriously. The little girl was adorable and a tough cookie Bad guy had great one liners And the action was 👍
This 1995 Sci-Fi Apocalyptic action opus starring Kevin Costner , Dennis Hopper and Jeanne Tripplehorne is so bad it’s good and back to bad and somehow good again. It’s so ridiculously nuts and over the top that all you can do is sit back, relax and enjoy the insanity.

The idea of a drifting, water-ruled dystopia stands apart from nearly every other post-apocalyptic film. It feels like Mad Max reimagined through oceans instead of deserts. There are memorable visuals and ideas, though character development rarely reaches.
Moist Mad Max. It’s not very good, but it’s a decent bit of fun. Set pieces and the action are both pretty decent. Pacing really needs work, this should’ve been 100 minutes easily. I can see why it flopped despite having fun with it

Really fun nostalgic film that will impress you with its practical effects. I believe it came out just a few years too late, which is why it underperformed. Majorino's acting was amazing
I’ve heard of this movie my whole life and finally gave it a chance, I really liked this film. The storytelling was nice, the action was interesting, and the ending was satisfying.
