A movie just about David’s weird parents who are totally oblivious to their son’s hacking, don’t care when he’s arrested by the FBI, and butter (uncooked!) corn by coating a piece of bread and then rubbing the bread on the cob, is the great 1980s spinoff we never got.

The weirdest yet most genius way to butter a corn on the cob.
JesseApr 18, 2024This film stands as a charming piece of history from its time, with its delightful depiction of 1980s technology and the pervasive fear of nuclear war that preoccupied audiences. The witty and entertaining characters, including a standout performance from Matthew Broderick,…

Ahead of its time in themes of AI and creates a sense of awareness that everything is known by computers. We cannot hide. We cannot run. We must limit the devices that can cause destruction and live more independently than the corporations would like. A life hidden from the eye

Really fun film that is so distinctly 1980s. Such a creative and fun idea and it’s adapted excellently. Charismatic characters and a great vibe/score throughout. Suitably campy performances and a nice amount of humour. It’s believable enough at times to not become far fetched

Loved it. It’s hard to believe that Matthew Broderick was ever that young. Enjoyed the plot and the star-studded cast that largely captured some would-be big names. Great comedy moments and the stakes felt real. General what’s-his-face was kind of a d-bag though.
Nuclear war bad 👍🏻 Edit: on second thought, this is pretty stupid. It is not you who decides if you need to play the game, it’s the other guy. Had the Soviets not developed bombs, we would have certainly used them on them or at least threatened it.
