A completely ludicrous, sentimental, and (lucid) dreamy sci-fi rom-com psychodrama thriller(?) that has a bizarrely gripping emotional vanity and narcissism to it that I think made Tom Cruise reveal a few things that he didn't mean to at the time. This movie feels like what…

I can't believe Christopher Nolan didn't invent lucid dreaming.

My fav type of films. The ones that have you confused asf and waiting on the edge of your seat for answers. Felt so bad for David, bro didn’t have a clue and neither did I

If I’m being honest, I was confused throughout a good portion of this movie, but at the end it kinda all comes together

Now this movie I get it it’s special. It’s like a horror movie like hallucinating kind of stuff, but the end is worth it and it is really emotional and a long movie, but I liked it. I also like the vibes of the movie, but it was playing with my mindso I would recommend for horror

Another confusing psychological film… Just the way I like them. I love how so many different people have different interpretations of this film. Definitely not all films should be that way, but there’s so many messages and plot points up for interpretation. Art is subjective.

ugh i don’t know. on one hand the movie plays tricks on the audience effectively and does a good job of illustrating its message. on the other hand, it kind of missed the mark on impact. the film didn’t make me feel much, except confusion. cruz, cruise + diaz are great tho!

May not emerge as the biggest disaster of the holiday movie season, if only because we haven't yet seen all the other year-end films. But it is a huge high-energy misfire, bringing Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, and Cameron Crowe to earth with a thud.

If Crowe's eyes are open, he seems to have directed most of Vanilla Sky with his mind wide shut.

For all the filmmakers' efforts, this project is something of an artistic albatross. It's a conundrum that doesn't get answered until a sort of help-the-audience Cliffs Notes final scene, in which we learn Everything. But by then, more than a few of us may be wondering, was it all really worth the trouble?
