Synopsis

In a chaotic, ambition-driven Hong Kong marked by sudden wealth, Man Tsz-keung, a desperate working-class man, confronts opportunity, pressure, and the looming threat of police scrutiny.
Moviegoers are saying
Reviewers split hard on '423911': nearly everyone agrees the opening hour is a gripping heist film, and Zhu YiLong's lead performance and a 'coked up Robin Hood' lighting a cigarette at a shrine stick in memory. The almost three-hour runtime (2h40m) wears people down, with multiple false endings, a heavy-handed pro-police finale, and frenetic flash-cut editing drawing the most fire. It's a passionate 'long and messy but magnetic' crime epic rather than a tight thriller.

first hour or so was an unbelievably excellent heist film but unfortunately just like Man Tsz-Keung, the writer also doesn’t know when to call it quits

Zhu Yilong is so hot omg On a more serious note, this film shares into the same problem as many recent Chinese films — way too much content.  The story takes inspiration from the 1991 Cheung Tze-keung case in Hong Kong, and attempts too much with it. There is the…

A classic Hong Kong style cop vs robbers movie inspired by true events. Another excellent performance by Zhu YiLong. Dropping a star because the movie was unnecessarily long and the cops were boring to watch.  David, you will get bored. Don’t watch this.
