sat next to halina in the theatre and she cried and was so happy and excited for harris and that was generally the vibe of the whole thing. everyone is rooting for him and everyone clapped forever and it really felt deserved. atmosphere on point. go off harris, go off!
itscharlibbMay 19, 2025pisses me off how talented harris dickinson is
KarstenOct 2, 2025Does a wonderful job of depicting the near futility of attempting to assimilate out of addiction and homelessness. You want to enjoy each new boon and breath above the surface of the water but your past, and the guilt and trauma that comes with it, pulls you down by your…

loved the karaoke scene so much!! what a directorial debut. harris dickinson is just casually good at everything huh
brooklynMay 17, 2025“Babygirl” star Harris Dickinson is a little too young, a little too handsome, and a little too hot right now for critics to pretend as if his directorial debut exists in a vacuum, and yet the raw and raggedy “Urchin” — which would command our attention regardless of who…

I care a lot about homelessness and how people end up in that situation. Most people experiencing homelessness are on the streets because of mental illness and/or addiction. To be honest, throughout this film, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was watching an actor…
TarasetareMay 17, 2025Major imo. Harris the filmmaker in full command, Frank Dillane a real real star. Special.
Ella KempMay 18, 2025This is really the surprise of the festival for me. Harris Dickinson directs the hell out of “Urchin.” Unlike most actors turned directors he utilizes establishing shots. He also isn’t overly reliant on closeups, instead allowing the body to fill the frame. Frank Dillane…

wildly impressive and commendable effort from harris dickinson, the dude clearly has tons of talent and is truly passionate about film. strong performances with a conflicting lead, some gorgeous music and shots make this one stick. feels indie with mainstream production; exciting
Harris Dickinson smashes out of the gate with his directorial debut, Urchin. A great start to his director career, and I also think he’s a great actor. The film is great, I think it portrays the vicious cycle masterfully and doesn’t let you love or hate Mike, it’s kind of a rollercoaster and I’m…

I wasn’t sure about this film at first, but it grew on me over time. It manages to portray homelessness and addiction without Hollywood cliches. The main character is compelling and unflinchingly honest. Very intimate, character driven storytelling. 7
Self destructive is an understatement for Mike. I’m liking this because I was impressed with a feature debut for director Dickinson, not that I really want to watch this again
