Synopsis

Born on a beach in Florida, she rides the Gulf Stream up towards the Arctic and swims around the entire North Atlantic across to Africa and back to the beach where she was born. But the odds are stacked against her; just one in 10,000 turtles survive the journey. She faces many hazards, the doldrums of the Sargasso Sea, creatures of the deep and fishermen. She travels up north but she drifts from her life current, the Gulf Stream, into dangerously cold waters. When she finally reaches the Azores on the other side of the Atlantic, her calling comes; she must return to her beach. When she reaches the shores of Florida, 25 years will have passed! She crawls out of the sea to lay her own eggs and keeps the Turtle's Journey alive.

    If you mute this movie and start the album Watching Movies with the Sound Off by Mac Miller at 45 seconds into the movie it lines up nicely. Similar viewing experience to muting The Wizard of Oz and listening to Dark side of the Moon.

    watch on mute and listen to mac millers album "watching movies with the sound off" and it perfectly synchronizes and you will transcend swimming in circles, rest easy mac with the cheesy raps

    i’ve loved watching movies with the sound off for three or so years now, and only today i find THE movie to watch with the sound off. didn’t even know there was a specific film to watch for the album. thank you mac miller.

The loggerhead turtle's journey is indeed incredible. But you would rather the narration, delivered intelligently by Miranda Richardson, didn't feel a need to remind you of this fact so frequently.

The loggerhead turtle is a threatened species, and one day all we may have left are its computer-generated analogues. Its fight for existence is plenty dramatic already, and is a story worth telling honestly.
