Shakespearean Comedy (source Wikipedia): - A greater emphasis on situations than characters (this numbs the audience's connection to the characters, so that when characters experience misfortune, the audience still finds it laughable) - A struggle of young lovers to…

For what seems like a campy and probably fun take on horror tropes at the surface level actually turns out to be a well-written and clever satire on political misunderstandings, lack of communication, and prejudice beliefs. I honestly didn't think I would have laughed so…

After starting college, it is 100% accurate that people should be more afraid of fraternities than Southern rednecks.

So good. An overall well crafted story and a great laugh. The theme was pretty well executed too & I was not expecting such a fitting final twist.

Rating: 8.1/10 Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is a modern horror-comedy masterpiece that subverts the "killer hillbilly" trope with brilliant and hilarious results. The film is a perfect blend of gore, physical comedy, and heart. Highlights - Clever Premise: The screenplay is a work of comedic genius,…

This remains an incredibly simple but wholly hilarious film, the premise is so straightforward, it’s aggressively black and white, but the satire of it all makes up for any simplicity as this film not only reflects on, it completely transforms the genre it bases itself on. For a film to be this…

I remember this movie being funnier when I watched it as a kid with my dad, but some scenes still made me laugh out loud. “Oh! It’s the pancakes! You don’t like pancakes!” 😂 The ending when Chad went psycho kind of threw it off for me though, just felt like it didn’t go with the comedic vibe of…

It's fun, and it's funny, and -- the best part -- it comes carrying a yeehaw-inducing sense of a treasure found.

Sorta doing for Texas Chainsaw Massacre-type slashers what Shaun of the Dead did for zombie pics, TD offers good-natured, confidently executed splatstick whose frequent hilarity suffers only from peaking too early.
