Hoop-Tober, Film 27 of 31: I know for a fact that I will never watch this again, as it's probably the single most harrowing film I've ever seen. Beyond Come and See, beyond Salo, beyond Irreversible... more along the lines of how much Zero Day fucked me up because both…

Justin DeclouxI was on the fence about nuclear holocaust before, but this film really turned me around!

Needed something to cheer myself up today.
COBRARockyDec 13, 2021One of the sole true anti-war films, where the aesthetics of conflict are stripped so bare of anything that could remotely be considered thrilling or exciting in favor of pure, raw brutality and unending suffering that will continue long after the camera stops focusing on…
Séamus MalekafzaliMay 26, 2018What a harrowing decent into a pure nightmare scenario. Bleak is an understatement... this intensly grim bad vibes nose dive into no hopesville goes all the way.

You know, I always thought that nuclear war might be pretty cool but after watching this I'm starting to reconsider this position... You go into a movie with the kind of reputation this one has ready for the misery and anguish but I was still somehow pretty surprised at…

One of those movies that should be required to pass any history class. A warning to the current and past generation. Slow start but make it to the halfway point and you’ll be rewarded with dread and despair at its peak.
Even more terrifying than The Day After. There are so many raw and visceral scenes that are memorable for their savagery—the hospital and sheep scenes
Initially I thought it was any other horror film, then I read the description on Shudder, and I guess it's a documentary film… okay. And of course it ended up being the hardest film I've ever had to watch, even more than "Come and See." It literally feels like it's all real, and the sad part is…

None of these ratings justify how I feel, I didn't enjoy this film, it wasn't mid and it wasn't bad. It was a film that was horrific to watch but not one that I had any opinionated emotions toward. I do not recommend watching it, but I also won't say to not watch it.
A perfect companion piece to The Day After, except this is from the British side of theoretical nuclear war. This is presented as more of a would-be documentary-drama. Very hard to watch. Mandatory viewing given global tensions these days.

The most terrifying depiction of nuclear war I’ve ever seen. This movie takes a very different approach from what I expect from this genre that is so much more effective
Not the easiest film to watch but definitely an important movie for everyone to experience. Especially in the times we’re living in. 8/10
