One of the greatest ever films to come out of the UK. A powerful indictment of racism and fascist ideologies, truly one of the best films I’ve seen using a neo-realistic approach. Stephen Graham’s performance is frighteningly faultless.

I remember a boy in year 8 asked me if I had watched this, I hadn’t but I went on to watch it. To him (at the time) he must’ve thought of some of these scenes as funny and just what ‘the lads’ do (Paul Willis), but watching this made me think of those who get pressured into this
