Moviegoers are saying
This action-packed cult thriller divides audiences with its unapologetically derivative approach—while some embrace its 'Kill Bill meets The Shining meets Suspiria meets Peppa Pig' absurdity, others find it a rehashed 90-minute slog that feels like three hours. Despite criticism for its unoriginal demonic cult plot, viewers consistently praise the impressive camera work, fight choreography, and Zazie Beetz's standout performance.

John Pork is calling on you to join his cult… will you pick up?
vivdagoat 🍎🍂🐞Mar 23, 2026It was a bold choice to tell us that each floor of the Virgil is themed around a different vice and then not show us any of them.

Jim CaddickMar 24, 2026The question underlying this type of film is pretty clear: can you appreciate action and gore while ignoring a derivative and unoriginal plot? This film in particular is a perfect example: it's hard not to be impressed by certain camera movements and fight scenes, but the…

Hollywood is aparently in its teenage years, they make it a point not to take anything they make seriously, but they go so over the top that they’re not criticized Abysmal acting, beatsaber music, embarrassingly sassy dialogue, serious un-matching themes, bad CGI, dumb plot.
zxki is "meh" onThey Will Kill YouMost of the reviews I've read have said 'Ready or Not' x 'Kill Bill', and I couldn't agree more. However, compared to either film, this one ranks at mediocrity. It's a shame, as you'd expect it to be amazing based on the comparisons alone. Zazie Beetz nails her role, full stop. Her performance…
Cam likedThey Will Kill YouA female strong lead film that highly trained with a blade really had me believed that its Kill Bill inspired, but the feet scene to me really solidified that idea. IFYKY. (TARANTINO) Other than that, this film had very entertaining with its over the top fight scenes and camera work, you can just…

if og sam raimi and tarantino directed a terribly written movie together. it’s overall pretty bad but there is some surprisingly nice cinematography and stylish fight scenes. near the end I was just tired of this movie and I predicted the ending which was pretty bad imo

Thebluemonkey69 lovedThey Will Kill YouEnjoyable this is basically if John wick and evil dead 2 had a child great fight scenes with over the top gore it’s fun a bit stupid and doesn’t drag out the runtime 8.8/10 a fun flick

JWolf is "meh" onThey Will Kill You5.6/10 Fun bad movie. But mostly bad. The set design was cool and the action sequences were stylish. That’s about where the positives end. I may have rated this higher if it wasn’t a direct ripoff of ready or not and kill bill. The tunnel scenes and the burning axe scenes were still a great…

Imagine if Ready or Not had more John Wick elements, and was directed by Sam Raimi. That’s this movie, and it’s wild in all the best ways!

Not good!! Seen all this before in Kill bill and it was only 90 minutes but it felt like 3 hours! What a waster
MBMark BaltierraIt was what I expected. It was a fun movie to forget about serious stuff.
BFBrittany FordeIt definitely wasn’t what I expected but I enjoyed it. A bit gory so for those who don’t like blood and guts and such, it may not be for you.

It’s just that the delivery system designed to get you from one showstopping mano a mano to the next begins to feel so derivative that not even the pulp pleasures of Beetz kicking mondo ass can keep this from feeling like a reheated fast-food binge.

After so many smirky bloodfests, They Will Kill You scarcely needs believable human relationships to earn some goodwill. All it really needs is Beetz convincingly going through hell.

Its lack of visual cohesion and bizarre finale get in the way of enjoying the whirlwind of fists, bullets, fantastical fights, and a sword with katana-like powers of cutting bodies in half. No one can accuse this film of becoming boring, but its over-stuffed narrative never quite delivers on its promising start.
