Loved it. Heart wrenching.
Phenomenal film that needs to be seen. It’s the best film of the year.
tears were shed. fraiser is king
Brendan Fraser better win Best Actor at every awards show or we know it’s all rigged. The Whale is a a well written, well directed indie film that manages to tell you the end and still deliver a tear factory. The ensemble cast has some of the best chemistry I’ve seen in a long time and it underlines why Fraser received a 7 minute standing ovation for his performance. Go see this!
The Oscar is a 🔑 lock.
Awesome written story
Don’t watch the mummy and then watch this movie it will give you a heart attack
Darren Aronofsky brings yet another soulful drama to an eager fan base. A story that was once a rare opportunity to view live on stage is now masterfully brought to the silver screen. This heartfelt drama pulls you in with an amazing comeback performance by Brendan Fraser, and stunning prosthetics, both worthy of a standing ovation. Sadie Sink and Hong Chau both bring forth strong, engaging performances, noteworthy for a bright future in Hollywood! The Whale is a must see film for its originality, performances, and production.
Devastatingly beautiful film. A must see in your life! Wow!
I sobbed uncontrollably as the credits rolled.
A heavy, dark, family drama film featuring an absolutely inconceivable performance by Fraser, who represents an unprecedented Hollywood comeback story. Well worth seeing, but get ready to think and feel.
A beautiful and devastating film. Tears were shed
While it is sad, it's also an incredibly beautiful film that forces us to consider what we hate about ourselves that stops us from living as our true selves in front of the world.
This film had me in tears from how impactful and relatable it is not just for those who are obese but anyone who’s ever been overweight or struggled with an eating disorder. They touch upon not just the physical struggles but emotional as well. I’m someone who normally can’t see a movie again too quickly cuz I know how it ends but this film captivated me the entire time that I actually could and WANT to see it again. At the end of the film everyone in the theatre just sat there, taking in the moment, needing to take a deep breath and collect themselves. I had never experienced such a thing
Wow what a performance by Frasier! Whale of a film right here.
There were no redeeming characters. I should have walked out.
literally the greatest movie so far! watching everything connected to my life made me sobb!!!
The most emotional movie I've ever seen.
Somehow Brendan Fraser managed to be excellent in the midst of this godawful unholy mess. Terrible screenplay, horror-film score, bad direction of scene-work. A monstrosity!
Brendan Fraser deserves the Oscar for his performance.
If I could give it more than 5 stars I would so in a heartbeat
Fun for the whole family :)
Well done. Very hard to watch. Heavy (no pun intended). Dark but incredible performance by Brendon Fraser!
Brendan Fraiser is back. What an emotional roller coaster.
Metacritic
Fraser often brings a warmth to Charlie that the film desperately needs, but his positivity is only an ember in a fire dying in the pouring rain.

Here, in short, is a self-regarding drama of self-loathing: hardly the most appetizing prospect. If it proves nonetheless to be stirringly watchable, we have Brendan Fraser to thank.
