A wealthy quadriplegic and a newly paroled ex-con forge a surprising friendship in this inspirational comedy from director Neil Burger. Bryan Cranston plays Phillip Lacasse, a billionaire who needs a caregiver after he’s left paralyzed after a paragliding accident. Kevin Hart plays Dell, the parolee who shows up at the wrong job interview and charms his way into a position for which he is completely unqualified — or so it would seem.
The pairing seems like it could never work, and Lacasse’s chief-of-staff Yvonne (Nicole Kidman of Aquaman) is vehemently opposed to hiring the untrained applicant. But as Dell acclimates to Lacasse’s life and constant needs, the two find common ground. Dell has no problem dealing with Lacasse’s petulant demands, and it isn’t long before the two men are learning from and inspiring one another, giving them both a new outlook on life.

Good movie i didnt want it to end
Great movie! The ending could’ve had tighter closer but I still loved it!
It helps immensely that Hart and Cranston play off each other well; or at least when the script is not getting in their way.
The pairing of Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart in the lead roles pays off big time, with more laugh-out-loud moments than the original and some particularly hilarious work from Hart, who steps up his game after his fun if broad-minded performances in Get Hard and the Ride Along movies.
In the end, The Upside is the sum of its good players and dubious politics, wrenching genuine tears from a story that celebrates the rich promise of life in all its shades of joy and heartbreak.
