    i really got sucked in to having a good time with a sweet piece about two french people in love and then someone told me this was what La La Land was based on and i knew these two wouldn’t end up together…either way the ending still killed me

    Used to love this tune in high school, but when I rewatch the musical now all the singing just gives me a headache—not a big musical fan. I really wanted this to be over the entire time I was watching it.

    6/10 #3 on Sparks top 10 movies. Get someone who looks at you the way Guy looks at Genevieve 😭 I’m not usually into romance or musicals but this one was pretty good. “People only die from love in the movies” LMAO nice 4th wall break. Super predictable but still enjoyable.

    This is a great film. I love the colors and scenery. I've grown to like musicals more than I did before, but I like them sporadically, and this was entirely a musical. However, as it went on, I truly appreciated the film and the way it wraps up.

    If I hadnt promised a coworker Id watch this Id have bailed after the realization that they were singing the dialogue. I stuck with it, they kept singing, and...I kinda liked it

    Now this is a musical... nothing new, nothing bad, nothing spectacular. It's good, and the message is clear the romanticization of the "forever and ever" not always apply.

    rating: ☂️ gorgeous movie and that’s really all it has going for it. i’d be fine with it being a musical if we were actually singing and had distinct songs. but alas.

    9/10 - Didn't think I'd like a musical with singing from beginning to end as much as I did -- in French no less (... also coney was right awol)

The wonderful-terrible dervish of Umbrellas reaches peak abandon, worthy of Vincente Minnelli, when Genevi#232;ve sobs out a plaint for Guy as a carnival whirls outside the shop.
