Synopsis

    This is what if "Desperate Housewives of Beverly Hills" had a daughter with "Sentimental Value (2025)". I laughed the whole movie thinking about these two weird similarities, and i'm here for the camp of it all. Kore-eda still surprises me.

    This was honestly hilarious. Catherine Deneuve reciting a paragraph of dialogue in french to Ethan Hawke and he’s like idk wtf she’s saying and someone mentioning Brigitte Bardot and Catherine going 😒🤢 queen of comedy

    AFI 2019: film #2 “you can’t trust memory” this specific kind of french movie is never really for me, but i did enjoy this the entire run time

    The Truth is fine. It's not a bad film. That's about it, really. As soon as the setup and character dynamics are established, everything plays out as expected. Hirokazu Kore-eda still cares about family, but this one just seems rather uninteresting. I like nothing movies…

The parallels drawn between Fabienne’s life and the stories she’s drawn to are a little on the nose. “What matters most is personality! Presence!” she declares, determined not to fade into obscurity. Deneuve’s luminous performance ensures she won’t.
