take a shot every time you hear a line of dialogue that aaron sorkin probably jerked off to after he wrote it
meganOct 16, 202020 minutes in i realized this was a 2+ hour courtroom drama and groaned out loud. why didn’t anyone warn me the trial of the chicago 7 was about a trial
mia lee vicinoOct 16, 2020Reader, the joy I felt when Michael Keaton showed up 70 minutes into this movie is indescribable

and to think that all this could’ve been avoided, had Jeremy Strong given the policeman a Pepsi.

Been meaning to watch this film for a while now and I’m glad I did. I was intrigued throughout the whole thing and I did enjoy it. The casting was great and so was the acting. Pacing was excellent and I love the overall theme and creatives used. Would recommend: 8.2/10
That was intense and emotional. If you ever need a wake up call or a reminder that America is not perfect and has done terrible things, then watch this movie. Great acting and stunning cinematography that includes recreations and footage from the events in question.
I thought it was super interesting especially since I’d never heard abt it. The actor playing the judge got the message across very well and the acting throughout the film was pretty stellar. Also really interesting to see a lot of law stuff I had learned about in undergraduate.

8/10 i love how they structured this to be documentary adjacent. i’ve personally done school projects and essays on this and from what i know i also love how they do accurately portrayed the 7 and the events that stood out without dragging it on beyond what’s necessary
This is incredible and nearly flawless across the board. Some explanations are rushed, but never confusing. The performances are amazing across the board, with Rylance, Redmayne, Baron Cohen, and Abdul-Mateen being the standouts. Just a fantastic retelling of history.
As trials can often drag into months or even years of monotony occasionally smattered with action, it is often difficult to retain emotion when trying to capture real historic trials in film. However this film does so beautifully and every scene is felt at your core.

Fantastic film, especially if you like courtroom dramas. It examines the power and consequences of activism and in particular the vietnam war protests. The performances are incredible with a strong narrative, a lot of which still resonates with Americans today. 7.5
A well rounded and a well structured film. It was very engaging and entertaining with such an informative atmosphere. Brilliant acting and such a delicate script with some decent pacing. I honestly wasn’t sure if I’d like this film but I did. Rating H- 8/10
9.2/10 I love almost anything Sorkin and this was no exception. Sacha Baron Cohen stole the scene basically every time he had a line. And the tension boiling all movie as you watch the judge act like a complete buffoon, made for a rewarding final payoff.
