Why does the baby Jesus in this movie look like the Boss Baby
James (Schaffrillas)May 15, 2018WHO IN SONY'S STAFF THOUGHT THAT THE SAVIOR OF THE UNIVERSE AND HIS PARENTS WEREN'T INTERESTING ENOUGH TO BE THE MAIN CHARACTERS OF THEIR OWN STORY
trey 🍂Dec 5, 2021Remember back in Jesus times when people would say “wassup” and “bro”? I have now seen every single Sony animated movie. I don’t like animation anymore.

The term guilty pleasure is made for movies like this. The screenplay is so bad for so many reasons, but it’s also got just enough elements that I like plus nostalgia that I can’t possibly hate it. But if you want an actually good Christian movie, go watch The Prince of Egypt.
i remember watching this movie at ccd when i was little and i told the teacher we never need to read the bible because if we forget we should just watch this again lmfaooo great movie 10/10 recommend!

Love it! It’s such a cute idea of telling Jesus’s birth through the eyes of Bo. It’s a cute movie! Very good message!

Metacritic
A feature debut that might have its heart in the right place but can’t quite manage to smoothly blend the spiritual with the silly without a few Biblical hitches here and there.
If you can get past the many bizarre inconsistencies, The Star is a relatively decent film for young Christian audiences. The writing, voice-acting and animation are unremarkable, but they get the job done, and the film’s heart seems to be in the right place.
