Moviegoers are saying
This charming family mystery featuring sheep detectives has won over audiences with its heartwarming blend of Agatha Christie-style suspense and barnyard humor. While some viewers found the premise initially silly, most were won over by the film's tender storytelling and surprising emotional depth, with many comparing it favorably to beloved classics like 'Babe'.

idk, i still think its the maid
lieseMay 7, 2026The sheep movie has a more poignant reflection on death and memory than most of what comes out nowadays. The cut to the sky at the end got me real good.
Joe AMay 8, 2026The sheep make rather excellent detectives, especially when they work together and remember to be polite. I think Mr. Curry would've worked very well with their team - his neighbourhood watch experience would've helped move the investigation along. I laughed a great deal,…

Pretty good! Mad paddington vibes. A nice feel good movie and a decent murder mystery.
Treyton Bischoff likedThe Sheep DetectivesThis movie was a lot of fun. Explored some topics I definitely did not expect from a movie about sheep solving a murder. I very nearly figured it out but am only a man and not a sheep.

Really fun film. The plot twist its kind of predictable, the acting IS good.
Valentina De La Cruz lovedThe Sheep DetectivesI wasn’t expecting for this movie to be so good. I stumbled across this movie and it’s honestly a hidden gem. Sure the CGI could be better but the meaning behind this movie is beautiful! I ended up crying out the movie theater
KG is "meh" onThe Sheep Detectives2.5/5 Cute and sad. Remembering does hurt, you’re right flock, but it’s important to keep the ones we love alive. Justice for the winter lamb

7/10 I enjoyed the whodunit aspect and even though the sheep are silly, it is a cute/fun aspect. I even cried a tiny bit.

DMDiane J MoyesWe chose to watch the movie after seeing the preview, which is typically the best part. It was good from beginning to end with a good variety of characters, humorous sidelines, some good values such as only destroy things for a good reason

The movie, directed by Kyle Balda and adapted by Craig Mazin from Leonie Swann’s novel Three Bags Full, is endlessly charming and pleasingly clever, as well as surprisingly moving in spots. And, oh yes, it’s about death.

At times coming across like a fusion of Babe and The Thursday Murder Club, The Sheep Detectives gets by a lot on pure charm. The mystery is compelling enough to keep audiences guessing, while the central characters are engaging enough to follow as they find out more about George's death. The film doesn't quite overtake other entries in the cozy mystery genre, but the sweet morals and clever twists make this a worthwhile watch.

A woolly family caper with a nostalgic flavour, The Sheep Detectives conjures flattering comparisons with Babe.
