sophieJan 27, 2018Brooks was here. There’s something truly devastating about that particular scene. The one where we find something that’s been completely lost, the soul of a man no longer recognizing his own body, his way of living. Hope no longer visible to the eye, the freedom that a…

What a masterpiece was this movie, the story got me hooked all the way. Didn’t expect the movie to be this deep and interesting. Great plot and let’s be honest, Morgan Freeman can’t miss.
kristin likedThe Shawshank RedemptionFilm class has us watching the most scary and traumatizing movies at 11am. The squeaking of the safe and jail cells were too much.
MilesGunlock lovedThe Shawshank RedemptionThis movie has everything you would want in a film. It’s intense and emotional and your on the edge of you seat the whole time. This film has great character development and although I don’t watch movies like this a lot this film is particularly special. This movie is 10/10 love.

I’ve never seen a movie more depressing & inspiring at the same time.
Aidan Shamas lovedThe Shawshank RedemptionMovie is a masterpiece
Mattiii is "meh" onThe Shawshank RedemptionThe highest rated movie on imdb. But I honestly can’t understand why. It has great acting but ultimately a rather boring plot and shallow characters aside from the main two. It tells a good story but in my opinion fails to have the viewer hooked long enough to see the ending.

frankie lovedThe Shawshank Redemption🐓 big ange’s favourite film automatically means this is now my favourite film 🇦🇺🤝🏴 emotionally scarred about brooks, shed a lot of tears :( the escape plan was top notch and the way he fooled warden was amazing! just be prepared to cry (about brooks) 👍🏻
Sabrina Bondi lovedThe Shawshank RedemptionThe Shawshank Redemption is an engagingly simple, good-hearted film, with just enough darkness around the edges to give contrast and relief to its glowingly benign view of human nature.

This is simply marvelous entertainment that breathes life into a genre that I thought had been dead for a decade-the prison picture.

Chicago Tribune
In the lead roles, both Robbins and Freeman are outstanding, layering their performances with snippets of individuality: Their small, daily sustenances and minor triumphs are wonderfully inspiring.
Duane Byrge
The Hollywood Reporter
It's the no-bull performances that hold back the flood of banalities. Robbins and Freeman connect with the bruised souls of Andy and Red to create something undeniably powerful and moving.
