Beautiful cinematography, an enchanting score, and a newfound sense of gothic fantasy make The Secret Garden a worthwhile cinematic rendering of the classic novel. The characters here aren’t particularly compelling, which severely hinders the story, but the imaginative…

I knew a few minutes in when I saw the CGI red breasted robin that this wasn’t gonna be up to scratch. It’s so funny how in 2020 they have so much more available to do yet it produces so much less in regards to charm and magic. There’s a missing ingredient somewhere. The…

This has nothing on the 90s version but Colin Firth was easily the best part of it. He’s underappreciated.

I have an idea maybe let’s not allow people to adapt a book unless they like the book.

This movie was one of the five movies me and my sister could watch through our childhood that we didn’t argue over. We still watch this movie together today

I love this movie! I just finished reading the book and even though they changed a lot from the original story it doesn’t bother me at all. Both versions are beautiful and I really recommend watching it🩵

mary's brattiness nearly made me shut it off within the first 30 minutes but I'm glad I stuck it out bc the doggy was adorable and she did gradually soften as the film developed

This recent The Secret Garden both respects and admires children’s imagination as its young characters discover their own way to grapple with loss, isolation, and loneliness.

Though Munden attempts to overload our senses with rich visuals, The Secret Garden does end up feeling kind of slight, like the film rushed through the SparkNotes version of the story.

This film is not the best representation of Burnett’s works, which toed the line between the magical and the painful — but in the moments when it succeeds, The Secret Garden blossoms into something beautiful.
