Moviegoers are saying
Christopher Nolan's 2026 epic 'The Odyssey' starring Matt Damon has audiences calling it both a masterpiece and a polarizing three-hour journey through Greek mythology. While some find the first half a 'snooze fest,' most agree the film delivers incredible IMAX visuals, heart-pounding action sequences, and Nolan's signature storytelling that makes you forget you're watching a three-hour film.

The Odyssey once again feels like an exercise for Christopher Nolan to showcase the scale of his filmmaking how many buildings he can blow up, how many millions he can spend just to recreate a cyclops with animatronics. And this is precisely where Nolan goes wrong: The…

Went in without expectations and enjoyed it a lot. I think this movie is needed in these times Added: I think this movie would be even better with lesser known actors

They completely skipped the wind bag. Odysseus never exposes himself to Polyphemus. There’s a random second fight scene with made up enemies. The armor looked unrealistic. The gods are hardly shown expect Athena here and there. No Hermes either

Problem with Nolan movies is that my expectations are now unreasonably high! Overall it was very good and didn’t feel like a long 3 hours, though it took me about 20 minutes to start to really get into it I sometimes got taken out of the moment when I’d see the star studded cast that was almost…

Epic film. Excellent story, cast and visuals. Did not feel like a 3-hour film. You are drawn into the story. Action scenes are incredible - Especially in the 70mm format. Must see in an IMAX theater with that option. By far this is the movie of the year for 2026. …

The director's highly anticipated follow-up to Oscar-winning Oppenheimer is a true blank check moment, an opportunity for Nolan to obsess over period details, work with a remarkable cast, and continue exploring the concept of war as not an opportunity for glory, but as a corrosive element that tears both societies and people apart.
