jimmy hoffa's secrets to success: • never show up late • always wear a suit for a meeting • don't drink • eat a lot of ice cream • always charge a guy with a gun! ...(with a knife, you run away!!!)
Roberto_Nov 18, 2019when the movie ended and martin scorsese's name appeared on the screen, a woman who was sitting next to me in the theatre stood up, clapped for a little while and then said WELL DONE, MARTY for everyone to hear and i can honestly say i have never been more represented by a…
mariaNov 9, 2019This won’t make a lot of sense but: I can’t honestly say every minute of this is necessary. But none of those minutes feel like a waste of time. This was everything I love about Marty and his films but polished. The most thoughtful, precise, and vulnerable film I’ve seen…

Oh maybe I DON'T want to be a gangster after all. It looks bad and sad!
Patrick WillemsDec 2, 2019“I’m behind you, Jimmy. All the way.” And in the end, he was.
Matt SingerNov 19, 2019This is the saddest movie I've ever seen

Third watch (first review). Some more stray notes: Love the structure so much. God Thelma. This easily could’ve been made with melodramatic suspense and anguish but she and Scorsese instead opt for this slow, matter-of-fact accumulation of detail that results in this…

MurielNov 27, 2019Brevity in my recent logs is only because of lack of time at the moment. Hopefully I can return to these pages in the future to add thoughts. Watched at Hillsborough Cinemas, Hillsborough N.J. Glad I saw it on the big screen but very disappointed at the venue. The…

Loyalty can’t exist without betrayal, and Scorsese explores that dichotomy with surprising empathy. Even though The Irishman is extremely long, the way in which it depicts the themes of brotherhood and loyalty is superb. There are 209 minutes and not one of them is wasted.
A really good movie but I couldn’t bare the 3hrs so i had to stop watching and re watch another day to finish. But good story, great characters, and the ending was good but it’s not what I expected.Just wanted a lil more Italian characters lol. All around a well made movie 9.5/10

The Irishman– A+ This movie fixed a lot of my problems with the other Scorsese as it tackles family issues without spending too much time on them. This movie is easy to follow and the acting is great. I’m not a fan of the de-aging but it’s ez to get used to.
So much could’ve been cut out. I got bored/lost 1/3 in. They de-aged the actors, but we could tell their age through their movements, it was so distracting. Why not hire younger, rising actors and give them an opportunity to star in a Scorsese movie instead of using known faces?

This was a rather long and drawn out movie. It would benefit from some more time in the editing room. This movie is still ok. Martin Scorsese, maybe you should focus more on efficient story telling rather than insulting Marvel.
For a Netflix movie this should’ve won an Oscar, or maybe all of them. This movie combines a motion with storytelling to such a degree. It feels like you were there. This was a great homage to the great Italian crime families.

One of the few that exceeds the tremendous hype.
EGEric GonzalezANOTHER tremendous story told by an acknowledged master director and cast. superb
CPCam PerroniScorsese proves he still knows what he’s doing. The cast is all wonderful here and for a 3 and a half hour movie it kept me intrigued almost the entire runtime. If your theater has it it’s a must see in theaters, if it doesn’t then make sure you check it out on NetFlix on…

Don't let the length scare you away. When it's Scorsese it goes fast.
JCJim ConiglioneI was in the movie -I played a Teamster-great cast -great people -Mr Scorsese a legend -fantastic film
KSKenneth SweeneyIntense, somber film that’s really about the end of a life that was a series of bad choices. Rough and well played.

This movie was so well made. The CGI is insane! I still can’t get over it. The music and the sound FX were perfect. Story was very interesting. The acting was superb in every way. I think it’s a must see ... it’s long ... so bring snack and a drink lol.
RFRob F.See it.
PKPaul KostelIt was not bad, but i expected it to be one of Scorsese's best, instead it dragged on and was just ok imo. From what ive read its not the true story of Jimmy Hoffas murder, which took away from the interest for me. Still good, but could have been better.
