This is what is going to happen. This ridiculous, hilarious movie is going to play on cable. You are going to reluctantly watch it. You're going to end up watching the whole thing even though you have other things to do. Then it's going to play on cable again, and you're…

tempted to give this five stars just for the way it stages the usual action movie “final fight in the rain” sequence INSIDE A WAREHOUSE
karen h.Aug 29, 2023yes he took the bus to go and kill the bad guys.
eden ☆Dec 15, 2014So wonderfully, sturdily stupid, like, what if there was this guy who was really good at murder so let's set up a few rows of obvious scumbag dominos for him to knock over. Gleefully violent and shot through with moments of grace like a massive explosion that would likely…

Sometimes you just want to work at the Home Depot by day and shoot somebody in the head with a nail gun by night. Denzel's character is complex. It's a good chance he's OCD, he has a mysterious past, likes to help hookers, is an avid reader and he's a weight loss coach.…
Todd GainesAug 24, 2023Denzel casually takes down the entire Russian mob using gardening tools. Never pick a fight with someone who works at a hardware store.
Bryan EspitiaJan 10, 2024It honestly rocks that Denzel keeps clocking into work at the Home Depot throughout this movie and then uses the power of Home Depot to defeat his enemies.

The dialogue between McCall and all the men who stood in his way was so chilling and real. Denzel gave a stellar performance and brought so much depth to this tortured character. I can’t wait for the sequel where he adopts his signature catchphrase: “You just got Equalized fool!”

Holy crud this movie was amazing. Denzel performance was just astonishing and just can’t be replicated. Actions scenes were incredible, even the off camera scenes which has a ton. This film really made Denzel a frightening figure. MVP: Denzel Moment: Ending Rating: 10/10
Hylas lovedThe EqualizerI want to say a reluctant hero / revenge movie but I think he had been living the mild manner kind of life and he longed for action. He was doing right against the bullies of the movie so that had me from the start. Great action movie, recommend.

There's a soothing catharsis in the idea that good guys are every bit as capable as bad guys of raining hellfire down on their enemies.

There’s nothing hugely original about the script by Richard Wenk (who cowrote “Expendables 2” with Sylvester Stallone), but Washington is a master at putting his own inimitable and stylish spin on even the most familiar situations.

Not particularly sophisticated, the searing intensity of revenge in The Equalizer is still occasionally arresting (and even entertaining) in its stylish hard-R violence.
