Enjoyed this musical film. Had a fantastic cast with incredible music.
The healing I didn't know I needed. I loved everything. Definitely award winning
Awesome portrayal of the power of Sisterhood on varying levels! Must see and have a Pow Wow with the Sisters!
I literally had chills throughout the whole movie! The whole cast was star studded and I absolutely love Fantasia’s voice!
It’s alright. If you’ve seen the original Color Purple, there is definitely a noticeable changes throughout the entire film. There’s line said in the first movie in a scene and those lines would be said exactly the same in a new scene about a similar context. Also this movie certainly has been cleaned up. it’s not as adult focused. So something younger viewers such as teens could watch.
Great Director, Good Choreography, Loved It. Next best Sister Movie since Woman King.
I loved the original and this rendition did it so much justice. I cried throughout the movie! Just beautiful!
This is my second time seeing. Love it

spellbounding and had me in tears
Movie of the year. Great actors and actresses.
I can relate…
It kept jumping too much, and no storyline.
Trauma p0rn🤮 there was no reason for a remake

The Color Purple ultimately works far better in pieces than as a whole. Considering those pieces contain some of the best moments I’ve seen in 2023, I’m able to put my concerns aside as a mildly nagging uncertainty.

It’s a blazingly vibrant, emotionally resonant and exhilarating movie musical that does justice to Alice Walker’s iconic 1982 novel and the subsequent stage and movie versions while forging new creative paths and standing on its own as a bold and original work.

Another reason to embrace “Purple” is that the moving film is graced by a duo of exceptional performers in Barrino and Danielle Brooks as Sofia who, while singing, capture the electricity of being live onstage, and, while acting, take advantage of the raw intimacy of a close-up. Getting that combo right in movie musicals is rarer than you’d think.
