having to watch a young George Costanza play a horny teenage camper was more shocking than any slasher movie kill in filmic history
ReeceAug 31, 2015So much better than Friday The 13th.
AleeexJul 16, 2023idk man maybe Cropsy should have just not pushed a lit candle onto his bed that happens to be sitting next to a canister of gasoline

i can't believe americans get to go to summer camp like this. in england they make you clean the schools chimneys like it's a charles dickens book
MarcissusApr 12, 2014Cropsy might not wear a mask but he's a scary fuckin' killer. A prank. Stop, Drop, Roll. A site for sore eyes. Your last trick. Bloody scissors. Sally's shower. Soapy suds. The way Michelle looks in her jeans. Girl talk. Underage smoking. Glazer's wife-beater t-shirt. The…
Todd GainesNov 20, 2025The film that makeup effects wizard Tom Savini chose to take instead of Friday the 13th Part 2. Fans of The Burning would agree Tom made the right choice! Sure, it’s loaded with all of the slasher tropes including gratuitous nudity, annoying jump-scares and teen character…

Daily Horror Scavenger Hunt - August 2018 7. a summer camp slasher I don’t think I’ve seen this since the VHS days and sometimes things lose a certain something in a quality HD transfer, but this is definitely one that doesn’t. I think it looks great and I don’t…
Tony the TerrorJul 31, 2021The quality of your slasher film is equivalent to the quality of your killer. As a result, this film does a great job incorporating a somewhat unhealthy premise (between this and Prom Night, it is clear that young people in the 80s had a lot of problems) and turning an…
Rafael "Mister Movie" JovineApr 14, 2021Perfect 80s Slasher Recipe 1️⃣ Take a bunch of young adults 2️⃣ Add rampant dude with garden shears 3️⃣ Sprinkle with nudity 4️⃣ Shake together in an 80's soundtrack of synth and screams 5️⃣ Top off with lashings of burnt flesh 6️⃣ Add blood to taste 7️⃣ Serve with…

This waaaas pretty bad lol. A super rip off of Friday the 13th, and it tried to copy it, but the scares just weren’t there, the acting was alright but the story was so messy that I felt we spent too much time doing side missions with characters, lots of misogyny, just not a vibe!
Decent movie but you can tell Harvey Weinstein wrote this because it’s real rapey and misogynistic

I only watched this to write it slightly into a fan fiction I’m writing. I didn't watch it completely, just enough to get the gist. It’s like Friday The 13th but with less lore. Not the worst though, it has a good horror/gore factor to it.
I'm in the small camp of this being one of my favorite slashers. Camp setting, likable characters, and some great kill scenes, such as the raft scene is an all timer. The killers look is kind of disappointing but not bad.

the weird rapey parts are so unnecessary, and Todd passing out from the tinniest cut is just crazy even for an unrealistic movie like this
Cons: Slow pacing, rapey writing Pros: great soundtrack, fun kills, Cropsy looks awesome Eh, watch it if you have nothing else to do
