Synopsis
British POWs are forced to build a railway bridge across the river Kwai for their Japanese captors in occupied Burma, not knowing that the allied forces are planning a daring commando raid through the jungle to destroy it.

Full of suspense, action, and riveting drama, Bridge on the River Kwai is a triumph of cinema. The performances by Holden and Hayakawa were excellent but ultimately overshadowed by Guinness, truly giving the performance of his career. David Lean was truly a master. 9/10

The highlight for this from me was the differing perspectives of the character’s involved, what they valued most. How writing should be.

But the last scene to me captured the essence of war. Madness. Nicholson wants a legacy and realizes his mistake and everyone ends up dead.
