at one point christian bale as frank starts having a panic attack because he wants to go to the movies and i fear i’ve never related to anything more in my life

i think mary shelley wrote something once about what a bad idea it is to a) take weird jumbled up bits and pieces b) stitch them jaggedly together and c) expect them to make a coherent whole

Checked the time once because it started to drag. Checked it again 20 minutes later and a minute had passed.
Didn’t love this movie, but didn’t hate it. I found most of it pretty interesting, especially Christian Bale’s character. Besides that, nothing else really stood out for me 7/10
What an invigorating film!!! Jessie Buckley is in a category of her own. I can’t stop thinking about her performance. This twisted romance is enthralling from the very beginning. You don’t fully understand her yet, but the tension keeps climbing higher and higher, you don’t even want to blink. The…

oh jessie the woman you are! her portrayal as mary & the bride was honestly so intense it was amazing. let’s just say that the people hating on this movie are either pressed & lonely or don’t want her to win the oscar. but she sure as hell deserves it. after this performance and hamnet, jessie…
A great concept, but a poor execution. This film was mad right from the get go. As soon as Mary Shelley was introduced as a character and possessed Ida I knew that this film was gonna be weird, and not the good kind. I don’t understand why they did that with Mary Shelley.

The Bride uses beautiful cinematography to tell a decent story of love, hate, and misogyny. The acting in this film is fantastic, but the film runs a little longer than it needs to. I will say this: this film has you rooting for the main characters.
Chaotic, wild, and a film not for everyone. Definitely had its moments where it was entertaining and moments where you’re unsure of where the film is headed. Great performances from both actors. One of those movies you have to watch for yourself
