This will do if you have exhausted both seasons of Reacher. Maybe Renny Harlin's best movie in over a decade, for whatever that's worth.
matt lynchJan 7, 2024A great 15-minute action short where Renny Harlin turns the titular skillset into some absurdly fun rooftop murdering that shows he still has the juice… wait, there’s a whole movie after that? Why even call this The Bricklayer? False advertising right there... Let’s try…
More_BadassApr 16, 2024To paraphrase an exchange from The Bricklayer between Tim Blake Nelson and Aaron Eckhart: TIM BLAKE NELSON You could be making a killing out there consulting. But you're [watching 2-star John Wick knockoffs]. Why? AARON ECKHART Because when I hold a [2-star John Wick…

Cheap; competent; derivative; entertaining; familiar; miscast; overscored; stilted; underwhelming.
joshrowleyJan 15, 2024I haven’t known Aaron Eckhart to carry so hard before, but this film would be absolutely nothing without him. The action left a lot to be desired, and the plot was very bare bones, basically linking mediocre action scenes together. Renny Harlin ranked

Just like a Beekeeper likes kicks, Sometimes a good name really sticks. When hitmen retire, Aaron's no liar, He'll just get a job laying bricks.

CineNasteJan 23, 2024totally serviceable action programmer, the likes of which would likely have earned a modest theatrical push thirty years ago instead of being dumped on VOD in January — more Reacher than John Wick, and there’s an inherent cheapness that it can’t overcome, but the thrill of…

The Bricklayer, The Beekeeper, The Accountant, The Commuter, etc.. its all the same shtick — once you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all but at least the action and fighting scenes are always fun I’d say this movie actually has some better action than you’d normally find in these
it’s like watching elena act like she’s in the CIA and i can’t unsee it
I thought it was pretty good. Very action packed. Fight scenes were great! I’d never seen Aaron Elkhart play a role like this one, I thought he was an excellent “badass”. Definitely recommend! And no I didn’t see “it” coming… you’ll know it when you see it or if you have seen it.

A pretty standard spy/action movie but the main cast really elevated it imo. I like aaron and nina so I may be biased 😹 The plot was your typical high stakes govt conspiracy stuff but they sold all the intense scenes well and the greece locations added some nice production value
I mainly watched this because I’m a fan of Aaron Eckhart, but he’s just not that good in this film. His character is kinda flawed too, one minute he has no problem taking out ten guys with guns, then the next minute he has trouble with just one guy.

Eckhart as a retired CIA agent who gets pulled back in for one last job. Classic dad-core story. Not good but not terrible in execution.
The bricklayer aspect is so random. 😂 Nina Dobrev adds nothing to the plot. It was almost decent enough but it just lagged at some point.
