MarianFeb 19, 2022Me, watching 95% of this movie: “Wow, this is both really funny and surprisingly progressive about trans issues. Hard to believe it was made in 1994.” Me, watching the bizarrely racist scene with the Asian wife: “Okay, THIS feels like the 90s.”

An all-time favourite of mine. First watched as a teenager shortly after it first came out and loved ever since. Fantastic performances by all three leads, great storylines, and brilliant soundtrack. It’s just the right balance of camp fun and serious themes.
Wish I could like double love this, I love it so much I don’t even have the words. Nobody told me this was the best movie ever, except the people who did tell me who I ignored. I understand now. So camp so funny and also you will cry.

A side of Hugo Weaving you’ve never seen before. A very unique road trip movie to say the least. A lot of heart in this one.
Entertaining, heartfelt, and well-performed, even if a lot of the dialogue is only generically clever.
