My own damn fault for selecting a musical, then getting annoyed when they sang too much
Gabe Pippin lovedSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet StreetNot as good as Andy Bernard’s performance, but still pretty good
Ahoo likedSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street🎶 "Oh Mr. Todd, I'm so happy. I could eat you up, I really could!"🎶 really enjoyed! i wouldn't mind if mrs lovett baked me into a pie. 🥧
- Richie Birks lovedSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Loved everything about this movie the cinematography world building the songs I’m not really into musicals but this was awesome!
Jared Cloud likedSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet StreetI went into this not knowing that it was a musical so that was quite a surprise. I liked the cast performances, the plot, the production design and the gothic cinematography but I wasn’t really a fan of the musical score. It was superfluous and tedious to listen to at times
Vank14a lovedSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet StreetTim Burton is the only person who can direct such a perfect Sweeney Todd adaptation. Him casting both his wife and husband in the leading roles is such a goated move. Plus, Sacha Baron Cohen as Adolfo Pirelli will always be the highlight of the movie!
- Lol is "meh" onSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Loved the actors, loved the character designs, and I loved the singing. I also liked the mystery aura to this. But what lost me was the fact that they used actual human meat to feed ppl😭 and then the whole killing just bc. Then the side quest of (1)
Nicole likedSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet StreetJohnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter didn’t do the musical numbers any justice. Visually, a very good movie. The acting was superb. But the singing was so flat and boring from the main two characters. Anthony f*cking killed it though.
Morgan dislikedSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Streeti hate this version so much i don’t understand why it’s so popular, the singing feels so lifeless and everything feels so flat and miserable, i like the original broadway cast and the 2014 anniversary versions so so much more

Teaming with Depp, his long-time alter ego, Burton makes Sweeney a smoldering dark pit of fury and hate that consumes itself. With his sturdy acting and surprisingly good voice, Depp is a Sweeney Todd for the ages.

Both sharp and fleet, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street proves a satisfying screen version of Stephen Sondheim’s landmark 1979 theatrical musical.

Depp is such a soulful presence he gives you a glimpse of this maniac's pain and pathos. Bonham Carter is extraordinary. She reinvents Mrs. Lovett from the inside out.
