One of the first movies I have any memory of watching is Richard Donner's SUPERMAN. As a little kid, it affected me so much that I spent more than two years wearing a Superman outfit under my regular clothes, even to school, so that when I got home I could triumphantly…

SUPER/MAN: THE CHRISTOPHER REEVE STORY is an undeniably moving look at the life of Christopher Reeve. Alternates between pre & post accident events before shifting to the legacy of his family, work & advocacy. Very effective usage of archival footage with interviews…

Very well assembled — and certainly more affecting than most of the actual superhero films released in the last few years.

Was this amazing documentary a "try not to cry challenge" or something? Because I failed. MY GOD, I need to rethink my whole life now. Christopher Reeve's and his family's story is as devastating as it is hopeful. I don't even know if my day is ruined or if I'm inspired.…

An exceptionally well-made documentary. Luckily, I got to see this as I won some tickets for it. As a fan of the original Superman, there was still so much I didn't know about Reeve's story. I could really connect with his story as someone who wanted to leave the world a…

Reeve’s bond with his fellow actor Robin Williams also makes up one of the documentary’s meatiest threads, adding depth to the character study.

While Super/Man touches upon the role, its impact on Reeve’s career and personal life, the documentary is more of a touching ode to the complicated, charming man behind the cape, and the perseverance he showed following his accident.

Astutely judged for the most part, and reflective on what Reeve meant to people in all phases of his life, the British documentary Super/Man is an emotional rollercoaster with some undeniably walloping moments. The relationships that quite literally saved Reeve come to the fore.
