First time watch and I had a lot of fun. This beat Scary Movie to the punch by 19 years and is just as funny in my opinion. Some very smart meta gags, some absurdly silly gags and some very dated un-pc gags (that may offend some). from imdb trivia: Producer and…

A slasher send up that feels a little ahead of its time. Predating parodies like Scary Movie and Wes Craven's self aware horrors New Nightmare and Scream. Student Bodies begins with a parody of Halloween style stalk and slash before moving into whodunit territory as the…

Cinematic Time Capsule 1981 Marathon - Film #94 ”Where is that girl?” “I hope she wasn’t murdered in our bed.” The great thing about Abrahams/Zucker films is that they shotgun a billion jokes at you and about 90% land and the other 10% crash. Sadly the ratio on…

"Scary Movie" (2000) wishes it could be at this damn level. I spit my drink out at the first mention of Horsehead Bookends.

Student Bodies just slowly topples over as you watch it, like a stand-up comedian in the act of failing.

Although it frequently misfires and occasionally keeps firing away on empty satiric chambers, Student Bodies is a likably sarcastic and knowing assault on the cliche's of horror movies. [11 Aug 1981, p.C10]
