Synopsis
A dramatic thriller directed by Academy Award® winner Tom McCarthy and starring Matt Damon, Stillwater follows an American oil-rig roughneck from Oklahoma who travels to Marseille to visit his estranged daughter, in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit. Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences, and a complicated legal system, Bill builds a new life for himself in France as he makes it his personal mission to exonerate his daughter.

A lot better than expected, and surprisingly sort of heartfelt with a genuine Matt Damon performance. He nails the blue collar American role perfectly, and this fish out of water drama thriller simply works all the better for it. Lilou Siauvad stole every scene she was in.

Great acting, slow moving

DCD CA little hard to hear/understand what they were saying sometimes. But, we loved seeing a “different” kind of movie with some suspense and twists. Matt Damon does a great job portraying an “ordinary guy”.
