the image of james franco deep throating a gun will haunt me for the rest of my life
meeraJun 7, 2019i got jealous when selena left the film halfway through
anthonyFeb 24, 2020I don’t think this is as smart of a film as a lot of people think, nor do I think Korine was aiming for that. It’s just aged like fine wine and encapsulates a nightmarish ambience that I didn’t know I was afraid of until watching it.

james franco’s character waving his gun around saying "spring break forever y'all!!!!!" is what i see in the corner of my room during sleep paralysis

davidehrlichMar 16, 2018it's key that this ends with the juxtaposition between the dead black bodies the protagonists have left in their way on the road to self-actualisation (their narration proving that the only repercussions they'll have is a moral desire to finally be the good american girls…

- Andrew Gooder is "meh" onSpring Breakers
I mean, it wasn’t a horrible movie but I also wouldn’t call it a fantastic movie either. This is a very dark and weird movie. It was very raunchy and didn’t follow a very great story. Watch this at your own decision. It felt a little disappointing to me personally. 5.5/10
K4U4N is "meh" onSpring Breakers???. I cant say it was boring because I was somewhat invested the whole time. Very “no plot, just vibes” with the main redeeming qualities being the aesthetic and cast. I fear this one just didn’t do it for me 🫢 though there was definitely cult classic potential
Topher Smith lovedSpring BreakersI'm thinking this hit some kid born in 2001 the same way Thirteen hit me when I first saw it. But seriously, this was way better than I had any expectation of it being. It's beautifully shot and surprisingly so much more than just gratuitous party scenes.

The movie is wild, but not in the ways that you expect, and it’s also surprisingly chaste — you think you see a lot more than you actually do.

Starts out like a salacious, rump-centric and blithely bare-breasted hip-hop video and ends up in the realm of scary and inspired trash. That's not meant negatively.

In Spring Breakers [Mr. Korine] bores into a contested, deeply American topic — the pursuit of happiness taken to nihilistic extremes — but turns his exploration into such a gonzo, outrageously funny party that it takes a while to appreciate that this is more of a horror film than a comedy.
