Synopsis

It's a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him -- and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him -- sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves - a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.

Moviegoers are saying
Audiences are mostly thrilled, with about three in four reviews landing positive, and fans keep coming back to the same things: Tom Holland's Peter Parker, a darker and sadder tone, and spectacle that tops the trailers. Reviewers call it "absolute cinema" and "peak," and several say Peter is "depressed af" in a way they loved, while a smaller group finds the villain flat, the plot predictable, and the ending messy. The Peter-Parker-is-always-having-a-worse-day joke came up more than once, which tells you the film's emotional punch landed.

Ultimately, this feels more like a placeholder than a fully realized motion picture.

This movie still shows there's plenty of life to the franchise when it comes to street-level stories.

There are certainly good times to be had in Brand New Day. Jon Bernthal offers gruff entertainment as his version of Bronsonian vigilante The Punisher. Holland’s sweet charm generates real poignancy as Peter negotiates a world that knows him only in his super-powered incarnation.
