I liked the scenes where Adam Sandler was a chef because they reminded me of Jon Favreau's Chef (2014). If you know you know

contains the weirdest performance of an orgasm ever put to screen

KYKJan 9, 2018One of those movies that feels like it was written by an artificial intelligence program.

A movie about a wealthy white man who is married to a wealthy white woman who never tells him he’s right developing feelings for his Mexican housekeeper after she tells him he is right exactly one (1) time
Merkin MuffleySep 5, 2020I cannot recall another character as unsympathetically drawn as Tea Leoni’s Deborah Clasky. There are Bond villains with more humanity. It’s just a bizarre choice in a movie with a lot of problems made by people who have done and know far better.
Sean FennesseySep 10, 2026I really enjoyed this. This was my first time seeing this. As I've stated in previous reviews, my wife and I have been going through all of Adam Sandler's movies over the past year, maybe longer. Not in a row or anything like that, but sprinkled in here and there.…

Wasn’t a bad movie but it was absolutely longer than it had to be. The lead actress is dynamite though so it makes up for it. 😂
I hated how flor said no to everything as if tiny things like a necklace would effect her daughter.. her daughter is clearly a well raised child and didn’t seem the type to become spoiled and take things for granted nor the type to let go and forget her roots and deb was annoying
Spanglish feels incredibly real and personal, especially for anyone who’s grown up translating for their parents or navigating the balance between their heritage and a new culture. The film captures that struggle beautifully, making it deeply relatable for children of immigrants

im always very happy to find mexican representation in media and this movie covered it pretty well. being the translator, struggling with your identity among white peers, and just the general sacrifices that get overlooked. i really liked this and the story itself was great too!
This movie was a masterpiece from the beginning. Flor stepping her comfort zone for her daughter and struggling to be understood in different environment hits close to home. The struggle with having her daughter keep her identity while still letting her enjoy the new niceties.

Watched March 17th 2026 - 4.2/5⭐️ Super underrated movie The story in this movie is touching - Showing the struggles of a single mother who moves from Mexico to the US to start a new life. The movie is great, storyline great, Adam Sandler is great in this!
